Getting Started
How does MeloLingua work?
MeloLingua teaches languages through real short stories. You read the story in your target language, tap any word for an instant translation or grammar breakdown, listen to the audio narration, and practice speaking with shadow and speak drills. Each session builds on the last, and the stories adapt to your level.
How do I choose my level?
When you first sign up, you can take a quick placement check or browse stories by CEFR level (A1–C2). Pick a story that feels comfortable — you should understand most of it but still learn a few new words per session.
What languages are available?
We currently offer stories in Spanish, French, German, and Italian, with more languages in development.
Account & Billing
How do I create an account?
Download the app from the Google Play Store or join the iOS waitlist. Sign up with your email address and you are ready to start reading.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime through your app store account settings (Google Play or Apple App Store). Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
I forgot my password
Use the "Forgot password" link on the login screen. If you need further help, contact us.
Reading & Features
How does the tap-to-translate feature work?
Tap any word in a story to see its meaning, grammatical role, and usage in context. The gloss is tailored to how the word is used in that specific sentence — not just a dictionary entry.
How do I practice speaking?
After reading a story, use the shadow and speak drills to repeat sentences aloud. The app provides feedback on your pronunciation. You can replay the audio as many times as you need.
Can I listen to stories offline?
Yes. Downloaded stories are available offline for reading and audio playback. Make sure to download them while you have an internet connection.
