Javier arrived fifteen minutes early because punctuality supposedly matters whenever everything feels brand new. First he battled the login screen three times until he conceded and reset an awkward password while Ana—his onboarding partner—waited politely by the elevator with an oversized empty mug. She showed him when to swipe the badge before paging the elevator and reminded him coworking kitchens reward anyone who speaks up calmly when the microwave splashes contradictory instructions across Spanish and English. Javier scribbled cues, nodded at every welcome speech, then before noon blasted a restrained email outlining modest monthly commitments and promised speedy replies—even though departmental mailing lists still looked like riddles wrapped in jargon.
