On Saturday, Denis and Ira came to an exhibition beside Gorky Park.
A crowd gathered around the first installation, and the friends lost sight of each other.
Denis had no phone signal, so he returned to the stand with free gallery maps.
A note was clipped to one map: “First, walk to the end of the gallery.”
Below it, Ira had written: “Then turn right at the blue wall. I’ll wait by the big window.”
Denis passed three dark galleries and found the blue partition.
By the window, Ira watched the late light over the park, holding two paper cups.
“I knew you’d notice the note,” she said, handing him a coffee.
